Quarter of a Century Birthday

My 25th birthday finally hunted me down. It snuck up out of nowhere, has already passed me by, and now, I've been a quarter-of-a-century old for one full week.

Urban Dictionary says a 20-something is anyone 25 or older, but younger than 30. So yep, that’s me.

To celebrate this occasion, Tim surprised with me a large slice of strawberry shortcake. He went to four different bakeries to pick out the perfect slice, along with making several phone calls to my mom for suggestions. With all of that effort, he chose right, the cake was perfect.

He really went all out when he gave me the overpriced, designer purse that I’ve had my eye on for the past few years. In the true grownup way of life, once we bought a house, all of our disposable income was suddenly focused on just that. So I was more than delighted to see fashion back in my life when Tim passed over that gorgeous bag!

The day was extra special because it was shared with one of my favorite Edelman colleagues who was also born on April 19th. Ashley and I both graduated from Auburn in 2007 and we recently realized we were birthday twins. Our fabulous and always-thoughtful colleague Abby planned a laid back birthday dinner at Fellini’s pizza and all of the girls came out to celebrate.

I’m really looking forward to the year ahead as a 25-year-old. It’s going to be a good one!

Greetings, from Atlanta, Georgia!

Welcome to our blog.

I thought I’d start things off with a photo taken of Tim and I on the night we met. We weren’t even 20 years old. Oh, how time flies. That was our college life. Days of nights out whenever we wanted, late night study hours, roommates galore, and well, let’s put it this way, our whole grownup life was ahead of us, but nowhere in sight.

Now, fast-forward six years and here we are, living that “grownup life” that once seemed so far away. With our careers in place and new house keys in hand, we sure have more responsibility than we did when we first met. But, that doesn’t stop us from pretending like the college days never ended.

There’s hardly a weekend when we aren’t taking a trip with our friends, cheering on our beloved Tigers at an Auburn football game or just going out on the town in Atlanta.

In all, we’ve never been happier!

This blog is our way of sharing our life with friends and family, and maybe we can make a few new friends along the way too. After all, everyone is always welcome in the houseof20something!
